The dAMN dIRTY aPES consist of four musicians who play for the love of music and entertainment. Roger Logan (bass), Shawn June (drums), Joe Curry (lead singer & rhythm guitar) and Marc Kiefer (lead guitar). Everyone in the band has at least 20 years experience on their instrument.
The band was formed in mid 2003 by life-long friends Joe Curry and Marc Kiefer who have been playing music together since they were 12 years old. Joe had discovered Shawn playing with another band and soon after that they added Roger to finish the current line up.
The type of music they play is a wide variety of classic, alternative, and original rock & roll. The one thing that separates them from any other band is that they put on a "Show". The high-energy and charisma that the band puts out is great for venues who want their patrons to have a great time and enjoy some of the best entertainment Indianapolis has to offer.
They have played all across the city at many different venues including Birdy's, C. T. Pepper's, Zanies Too!, Verizon Wireless Music Center, The Doghouse, and radio station events for Q95 & X103. This band has established themselves as one of Indy's top live acts. In just a few short months of playing out, they opened up for the national act LIT at the Colts home opener versus Green Bay that was sponsored by X103, on Jackson Street!
The band continues to strive to be even better and increase their fan base in central Indiana and beyond. One thing you'll say after seeing them live is that it's one of the best dAMN live shows you've ever seen, period!

Friends, fans, and ex-lover's:
I am a maudlin man with strong needs and deep desires. My uncanny ability to unleash my love for Elvis can only be paralleled by my likeness to Bon Scott's throaty growl and Ted Nugent's whole-hearted guitar tone. Music is my life. Enough said. Comprende compadres?
However, my addiction to free, safe, gratuitous, and animal-like sex, much like Nugent, has led me to follow life with one simple motto: Do it.
"People should know that for me to stay in the shape I'm in, a balanced diet of Pop-tarts and cigs at 2:00am gives Joe Deli the added boost he needs to "bring it" to every show."
Love to all & Cheerio,
Joe "Deli" Curry

My fellow Americans:
It all starts with KISS back in 1977. I was six years old. My Mom, older brother and I went to a record store that specialized in singles, at that time called "45's". My brother walks up to the counter and says "that song, YOU DRIVE US WILD, WE'LL DRIVE YOU CRAZY"... The first time I heard and saw that band, I was hooked.
Before KISS, I was listening to 60s music (it's what the parents had on the record player), including The Beach Boys, The Kingsmen, Motown and my favorite, Jan and Dean. "SURF CITY" still sounds great today. The Ramones recorded a great rendition of that tune.
In the early 80s, I started playing guitar. My first guitar was a Kay SG copy. Along with KISS, I listened to AC/DC, Ozzy and Van Halen. I played in a couple bands during high school. We practiced all the time and played some really fun gigs.
When I went to college, I suppressed my guitar playing for school work. After several years, I realized my true feelings and bought a 40th anniversary Fender Stratocaster and started learning some SRV tunes and creating my own riffs. No looking back from that point on. Playing the guitar is what I love to do.
Shawn - Drums
I like to play the drums.

My story is short and sweet, so if you want me to embellish more here...keep dreaming. Stop me at the gigs and I will be happy to share my 'war stories' with you. Here's my so called story...in a nutshell.
Thinking back, I remember the first time I jammed. I was 14 years old. It was at a buddy's (Tommy's) house, and I brought my guitar over to play with some other friends of his that were coming over as well. The other guitar player (Shane something or other) looked at me and said, "Put that thing away. Can you play bass?" I looked at him with a confused and frustrated look and said, "I'm not sure, but I think I can." Ever since then I have been hooked on the instrument. Thanks Shane!
I love and have played every kind of genre of music from jazz, blues, metal and grunge to country, gospel, southern rock and just plain old rock and roll. I traveled in several bands on the road for many years. Come to think of it, I've been playing longer than the age of moost girls that are in the bars now.
I've had the luxury and opportunity to have opened for Foghat, Rick Derringer, and a few other notables in the music industry. I even got the opportunity to play Craig McGregor's bas (of Foghat). That I will never forget! After a brief retirement stint, I played in a few other local bands and I miraculously joined up with the dAMN dIRTY aPES. And I can honestly say that I've never been more excited about being in a band. This is something special I can feel it. It has hopened up a new chapter in my memooirs for sure.
